Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer

Build and execute robust and reliable embedded sub-systems and Vehicle Control Unit along with Battery Management systems.

We are looking for a passionate innovator who can design, build and execute robust and reliable various embedded sub-systems and Vehicle Control Unit and Battery Management systems. This role entails significant ownership of the building and creating a robust architecture and developing a cloud-connected ecosystem. We are building a next-generation kWh OS platform for a Vehicle as a service, which allows services to run on the cloud and interact in real-time with the vehicle. The kWh team is small and we maintain a very healthy work culture of creating and building world-class products.


  1. Work cross-functionally within teams and set clear API requirements for the embedded OS
  2. Implement architecture to improve embedded drivers, algorithms, to develop a new generation OS
  3. Deliver high-quality C/C++/Rust embedded binaries on an RTOS
  4. Design the software architecture and implementation on custom hardware through integration, test and debugging for kWh OS
  5. Make performance and optimization trade-offs to meet product requirements
  6. Develop the software for BMS and the VCU of the vehicle
  7. Build the software pipeline for smart and intelligent embedded system
  8. Specify, design, and implement the functionality and behaviours of various embedded subsystems
  9. Hands-on hardware bring-up, JTAG debugging and code optimization and execute  MISRA standards on the software
  10. Deep expertise in understanding software design, software development life cycle, real-time operating systems, and analysis of the same.


  • B.E./B.Tech in the same field or relevant field. Also proven experience in the automotive field
  • At least 3 years of experience in Embedded Systems and the ability to demonstrate the technical depth and leadership qualities
  • Experience with working in innovation-driven teams in the automotive space
  • Experience in the developing vehicle control unit, battery management system, telemetry, and testing
  • Experience and passionate hands-on developer who can develop a system architecture that is highly modular and well-integrated
  • Proven ability to read schematics, application notes and writing device driver libraries
  • Should have familiarity with debugging protocols such as JTAG/SWD
  • Relevant experience in developing data acquisition systems
  • Should have proven experience with different embedded memories and their management
  • 3+ years with software i.e. RTOS, C, C++, HTTP, MQTT and (or) Python
  • Understanding and experience in working with communication protocols such as UART, I2C, CAN etc
  • Should be a team player and build a culture of innovation-driven product development
  • Bonus, if the candidate has worked on patents in a similar field previously
